Ibrahim Palace
The Ibrahim Archaeological Palace, the Ibrahim Castle, the Kut Palace, or the Dome Palace is considered one of the most important monuments of the city of Al-Ahsa in the eastern region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. And it is located north of Kut, and it was the main headquarters for the garrison of the Ottoman Empire in the Al-Ahsa region in Al-Hofuf, which belonged to Basra at that time. It was taken over by King Abdulaziz Al Saud on April 13, 1913 AD, during its annexation of Al-Ahsa. And the construction of the palace and the dome mosque began in 1571 AD, then it was expanded to include the castle, a prison, and Turkish baths. The Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage completed the restoration stages in all parts and facilities of the palace in March 2019, which included rebuilding the fallen parts, painting the buildings, and repairing and leveling the square opposite the palace so that it would be a venue for holding tourism events and festivals. Ibrahim's palace covers a very large area of about 16,900 square meters, and it mixes Islamic and military construction. Its huge construction and upper outskirts give it the shape of ancient castles. The mosque is wonderful in its inscriptions and construction. The architectural style of the palace consists of the religious style and the military style.
