The Ismailia Museum of Antiquities is one of the oldest museums in Egypt, and the museum displays a variety of archaeological collections from the Suez Canal area and the Sinai Peninsula - which were found during the excavation of the Suez Canal - with a total of 3800 pieces distributed in the museum building, including a statue of the Sphinx made of Granite and marble sarcophagus dating back to the Ptolemaic era.
