Izmir Bird Sanctuary

Izmir Bird Sanctuary, which was under the protection of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, is spread over an area of 8 thousand hectares within a field in Çiğli district. Home to endangered pelicans, pink flamingos, gray and black storks and 205 species of birds, this paradise is not only one of Turkey's most important wetlands in terms of natural conditions, but also incomparably perfect with its global counterparts.
