Izmir Museum of History and Art

The museum opened to the public in 2004, and displays the artifacts collected from excavations in and near Izmir, and it is divided into three main sections, which are stone works, ceramic works, and precious artifacts, and at the entrance stone works such as statues from ancient, classical, Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine times appear, There is also a display of coffins and forts showing the burial culture in the Hellenistic and Roman eras. Sculptures, inscriptions, friezes of wrestlers and Olympic Games can also be found in this section. It is a unique and unforgettable experience.
