Jordanian Museum of Popular Traditions
The Jordanian Museum of Folk Traditions was established in 1971 AD, and it aims to collect Jordanian and Palestinian folklore from all parts of Jordan, to protect and preserve this heritage and present it to future generations. The museum is also interested in presenting folklore to the world. The museum contains five exhibition halls, the first hall is dedicated to traditional costumes of the East Bank, and in the second hall, traditional jewelry and cosmetics from various regions in the East and West Bank are displayed, and the third hall contains a collection of Palestinian costumes and dresses, and in the fourth hall a collection of pottery and wooden utensils and food preparation utensils, as well as a collection of silver jewelry and wedding dresses from the West Bank. The fifth hall, located in the basement of the Roman theater, houses a collection of mosaics from the Byzantine churches of Jerash and Madaba.
