Juraj Sporer Art Pavilion

The Juraj Spurier Art Pavilion is located in the heart of Opatija in the immediate vicinity of the sea and next to St. Jacob's Church. It was built during the Austrian rule at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries in the original ecclesiastical area, which with the development of Opatija was redeveloped for tourism purposes. The building was originally a pastry shop, and was renovated in 1959, 1964, 1984 and 2003, and today it is one of the most attractive art galleries in the Adriatic region, hosting various exhibitions, concerts, theatrical performances and other important cultural events in the city.
