Kansong Art Museum

The Kansung Museum of Art is the first modern private museum in Korea. It was founded by Jeon Hyeongpil in 1938. The purpose of its establishment was to prevent the Japanese removal of Korean cultural property during the Japanese occupation. Many Korean cultural property, such as porcelain, were transferred to Japan. Goryeo, Buddha statues made in the Silla Kingdom, documents and books dating back to the Joseon Dynasty, and the museum contains many ancient and high-level art pieces.
