Description of the place
The Monument to the Unknown Soldier is located in the Mansheya district of Alexandria and was built by the Italian community in honor of Khedive Ismail (Isma'il Pasha). The monument was characterized by a unique and distinctive architectural design, as it is a marble base surmounted by a group of circular marble columns, delicately engraved and arranged in a semicircle surrounding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
