The King Charles Tower is one of the magnificent towers that connects the walls of the old city. The tower dates back to the thirteenth century. It was built of red stone at a height of 21 feet. It was used by the city’s painters’ guild. An inscribed plaque bearing the title was placed on the door of the tower. The image of the phoenix, which is the emblem of the painters, which visitors can see when they visit the tower, while touring the upper rooms.
