King Rama IX Park
King Rama Park is the largest public park in Bangkok. Opened in 1987 to celebrate King Bhumibol or King Rama IX's birthday, it is more than just a garden. It extends over an area of more than 200 acres, and is characterized by huge green spaces with beautiful and unique plants and flowers, a huge botanical garden and a lake. Located on the outskirts of Bangkok, a visit to the park provides an excellent break from the hustle and bustle of city life for both tourists and locals. A fern garden, rose garden, desert house, shrub maze, pretty ponds, and several floral trails are other highlights of the park.
