Klazomenai Ancient City of Olive Presses
Klazomenai is one of the twelve Ionian cities, which were inhabited since 4000 BC. It was founded in the Iron Age, and was famous for agriculture due to the nature of its fertile soil, which is suitable for growing all crops, and then exporting them to neighboring countries. Perhaps one of the most produced by the city is Pure olive oil, which was pressed in fully equipped and modern presses designed by experts at the time. Today, Klazumenay is the oldest known olive oil production workshop in Turkey, which was opened to tourists who love history and antiquities.
