Description of the place
Arikadi is a fort located in Kasaragod district in the state of Kerala, and it is believed that it was built in the year 1500 according to some historical manuscripts, but the information is not confirmed. Excavations carried out by a team from the Department of Archeology at the University of Kerala in 2015 revealed a large hall, possibly intended for worshipers, beneath the fort. There are only some minor remains left of the fort, but it is still one of the most important tourist attractions in Kasaragod.
