Description of the place
The Kursunlu Mosque was built in 1573 by Mimar Sinan, and it is the only work he designed in the city of Kayseri (his hometown). The mosque is characterized by a building made of cut stone and a central dome covered with lead. A work of classic Ottoman architecture and one of the most beautiful mosques in Kayseri in terms of inscriptions and decorations.
