Description of the place
The Lake Gate is one of the main gates through which the residents and visitors of the city of Iznik could enter the Iznik Castle when they visited it, but today the door is located in the ruined part of the castle so much that its previous existence can hardly be traced. A part of the tower close to this gate still stands today, and through it it is possible to infer the location of the previous door and to wander near its huge base.
