Latifiye Mosque
Al-Latifiya Mosque is located in the south of Al-Jumhuriya district. It was built by Abd al-Latif bin Abdullah in the year 1371 AD, who served during the era of the Artuqid sultans, King Saleh and King Muzaffar, and its minaret was built by the Egyptian ruler Muhammad Dia Tayyar Pasha. As for the current minaret, it was built in 1845 AD by the ruler of Mosul. The mosque is distinguished by its uniquely designed doors and arches, and the braided geometric motifs and starry motifs draw attention to the three-segmented arched gate made of two-color stones.
