Lausanne Monument

The Lausanne Monument is one of the most important landmarks that attract tourists to get to know it closely in the city of Edirne, as the monument refers to an important event in modern Turkey linked to the end of World War I, the end of the civil war, and the independence of the Republic of modern Turkey. The young woman in the middle of the statue represents beauty, pride and justice. She holds a dove representing peace in her left hand and a document in her right hand referring to the Treaty of Lausanne. The base of the statue symbolizes the seas that surround Turkey.
