Lighthouse Arnel

The Arnel Lighthouse is located in the far northeast of the island of São Miguel. It was the first lighthouse to be erected in the autonomous region of the Azores, as it was built at the end of the nineteenth century by the great worker of the Northeast, Antonio Alves de Oliveira. Work on November 26, 1876, and has undergone many improvements and modifications over the years, which enabled it to withstand until today while preserving its functions, and today it is a prominent tourist landmark in the Azores.
