Luxor Obelisk
The Luxor Obelisk is a pair of ancient Egyptian obelisks carved to stand on either side of the Luxor Temple gate during the reign of Ramesses II. The left obelisk remains in its position in Egypt, but the right stone, 23 meters (75 ft) high, is now located in the center of the Place de la Concorde in Paris, France. The Luxor Obelisk in Paris was officially classified as a historical monument in 1936; And below it is the Concord metro station. Obelisks are made of yellow granite with hieroglyphs written on them in honor of Pharaoh Ramesses II.
