Maison de Victor Hugo
Maison de Victor Hugo
The museum is located in the Place des Vosges square, and it dates back to 1605. When the chateau was given to Isaac Arnold and was greatly improved by the de Rohans family, Victor Hugo was thirty when he moved into the house in October 1832 with his wife Adele. And the palace was converted into a museum when Paul Meuris made a large donation to the city of Paris to buy the house. It is now considered a historical museum in which Victor Hugo's valuable antiquities are displayed.
