Maria Locherboden

Perched on a hill above the Mieming plateau and high up in the Ental Valley, the mighty Maria Locherboden Church has been a beacon for pilgrims, hikers and visitors for centuries. Thanks to the cave-like entrance site of an underground gallery replete with many miracles dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries, the site quickly became a place of pilgrimage. Later, a neo-Gothic church was erected on this site to accommodate the growing number of pilgrims from Austria and all over the world. What distinguishes this church most is that it is located among the charming natural areas between mountains and valleys, which look like a unique painting.
