Masjid Al Hakim
Al-Hakim Mosque is the second largest Fatimid mosque in Egypt and was modeled after the Ahmed Ibn Tulun Mosque. The mosque is built mainly of bricks, except for the two unique minarets, which are constructed of imported stones. The mosque consists of an open courtyard with four halls, "arwaq", surrounding it from the four directions, the largest and most beautiful of which is the qibla arcade, which determines the direction of Mecca, where Muslims should turn during prayer. This mosque is considered one of the best examples of Islamic architecture in the country.
