The Guripalayam Mosque is a large and distinguished mosque located in the Guripalayam district, near the city of Madurai. It contains two tombs of the Sultans of Yemen, Khaja Syed Sultan Alauddin Badusha Razi and Khaja Syed Sultan Shamsuddin of the Sultanate of Madurai. The mosque is characterized by a unique and distinctive design that includes domes, arches, and tall ornate minarets. The dome has a diameter of 70 feet and a height of 20 feet. It is made of a single block of stone that was specially brought from the Azagah hills to be a distinctive artistic imprint in the world of Islamic architecture. Muslims come here to perform various religious prayers and rituals such as lessons, sermons and seminars.
