Melons Valley

This valley in Fayoum was called the Watermelon Valley because it contains round stones that resemble the shape of a watermelon, but they are larger in size. These round stones have become one of the secrets that have not yet been revealed how they were formed, as geologists have developed more than one theory, but the theories that have been developed do not justify their multiple colors such as scarlet, pink and brown. Many myths and legends were woven around these rocks, as some Fayoum residents still believe that these rocks are indeed watermelons that have been petrified over millions of years.
