The Mill City Museum was established in 2003 AD on the ruins of the famous Washburn wheat mill, which is located on the banks of the Mississippi River. The museum works to document the history and growth of the flour industry and other local industries that are based on hydroelectric power. The museum includes many sites that include the ruins of mills that were in use in the seventies of the nineteenth century.
