Monument Church Of St Francis
Founded by the Franciscans in 1245, the Church of St. Francis was initially a small church and monastery, which were extensively altered in subsequent years. In 1832, a fire destroyed the old monastery and part of the church, and they were rebuilt. The origins of the church are Roman, but it was later converted into one of the most prominent examples of Gothic architecture in Porto, in addition to carrying some elements of the Baroque style.
