The Muhammad Ali Mosque is located inside the Citadel of Saladin in Cairo, and is also known as the "Alabaster Mosque", in reference to the marble panels on its inner and outer walls. The mosque was distinguished by its architectural design in the style of Islamic architecture, and it includes a minaret that is the highest in all of Egypt, reaching a height of 84 meters. Limestone is the main building material for the mosque. The square mosque plan consists of a central dome supported by four half domes, with four additional domes. Smaller in the corners of the building, and there are two minbars inside the mosque.
