Mount Tabor
Mount Tabor is the highest mountain in the southern part of Lower Galilee, north of Marj Ibn Amer in Palestine. Its height is about 588 meters above sea level, and the top of the mountain is clear and viewers can see it from distant places such as the Galilee and the Golan Heights. Three villages are located on the slopes of the mountain - the largest of them is Daburiya (located on the western slope of the mountain), Al-Shibli (located on the eastern slope of the mountain) and Umm Al-Ghanam (on the eastern-south slope of the mountain). And on top of the mountain there are two wonderful historic churches. According to the Christian religion, Mount al-Tur or Tabor is the site of the transfiguration of Christ, when some of his disciples ascended to the top of the high mountain, and there the Lord Christ transfigured to his disciples Peter, James and John.
