The museum displays collections and documents detailing life in the Alpes Maritimae province, dating back to the Neolithic period, antiquity and the Middle Ages. Antiquities that can be visited include: the museum building, the amphitheater, and the baths dating back to the third century AD, in addition to the paved streets and the Palaeo-Christian complex, which dates back to the fifteenth century AD. The main building of the museum - which opened in January 1989 - displays various collections of pieces from the Bronze Age (1100 BC) to the Middle Ages, such as ceramics, glass, coins, jewelry, sculptures, and tools.
