Museum of Royal Malaysian Customs Department
One of the most interesting museums in Malacca is the Royal Malaysian Customs Service Museum. It is located in the heart of the city in an old customs warehouse on the bank of the Malacca River and next to the model of the famous Flor de la Mar ship. The building itself dates back to the 1890s when it was used to store imported goods such as Rice, sugar, and textiles awaiting determination and payment of customs duties. It was converted into a museum in 2006, and includes a collection of distinctive exhibits such as uniforms, old and modern equipment used by the department, and historical photos of its employees.
