National Museum of Beirut
This museum is the main cultural institution in Beirut, as it displays an impressive collection of artifacts that summarize for museum visitors the history of Lebanon and the civilizations that influenced it culturally. Among the highlights of what you will find in this museum: the gilded Phoenician bronze statues that blur with perfection the line between reality and imagination, and they were found buried near the Obelisk Temple in the Byblos region. The museum also contains a series of Phoenician coffins, Roman tombs, and other pieces through which you will be able to trace the ancient history of Lebanon.
