National Theatre of Szeged
Opened in 1883, the Szeged National Theater is one of the city's most beautiful eclectic Baroque buildings rebuilt from its ruins. It was given great elegance by the architects Ferdinand Felner and Hermann Helmer. Its semicircular facade is decorated with allegorical figures of theatrical art. You can see the statues of József Katona and Ferenc Erkel, and it is worth noting that Zsigmond Vajda painted the frescoes for the ceiling of the theater that houses 680 people. The theater has three sections: opera, dance and drama.
