Nijō Castle
Nijo Castle is an ancient castle in the city of Kyoto, dating back to the seventeenth century. It was used as the residence of the Japanese Emperor because of its large area and the variety of its facilities within the five floors, until the castle was recently donated to the city and opened to the public, and it gained one of the most important international ratings, by joining to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1994.
