Description of the place
One of the largest temples in Butterworth on the island of Penang is the Temple of the Nine Emperor Deities. It is a large ornate Taoist temple with a large door and three carved halls. It is dedicated to the nine emperor gods from the Taoist traditions who are believed to reside in the stars. It has gone through many transformations over the years. It started as a small residence in 1971 AD and was completed in 2000 AD.
