Old Town Tanneries

Turkey was famous for the leather trade in ancient times, as Turkish leather was one of the first brands, and this profession had three levels of ranks, trainees, followed by workers with medium responsibility, while the highest rank was the share of tanners. In this old quarter, with its cobbled streets, tanneries are lined with old stone buildings. In addition to the tanneries, this neighborhood, which is an open-air museum, includes cafes and leather shops, where you can, when you visit, learn about the hand tools that were used in the past, and the remaining leather products from that period.
