Palace of the Holy Office
The Palace of the Holy Office was built after 1514 under the patronage of Cardinal Lorenzo Pucci. The architects Pietro Roselli, Giuliano Leni and Michelangelo rebuilt the facade in 1524. Cardinal Pucci eventually died, but the palace was not completed until Pope Pius IV came between 1566 and 1567 to the place of the palace and bought it at a cost of 9,000 scudi, then the Pope turned it into the seat of the church, which necessitated its renovation.
