Description of the place
It is the temple that dominates the hill of the Acropolis in Athens. It was built in the middle of the fifth century BC in dedication to the Greek goddess Athena Parthenos (Virgin Athena). Its decorative sculptures and white marble columns are a living example of Greek art. It is a constant symbol of ancient Greece, Athenian democracy and Western civilization.
