Pescante de Hermigua
Abandoned and destroyed over time, the Piscante de Hermigua dock is an important historical site that reflects an example of old industrial architecture on the island of La Gomera. It was built between 1907 and 1908 using stone. A steam engine was used to lift and unload goods, animals and people to and from merchant ships. Its main purpose was to export fruits such as tomatoes and bananas.
