Phuket Seashell Museum
Phuket Seychelles Museum or Phuket Seashell Museum is a museum that contains valuable shellfish from all over the world. First opened in 1997, the museum is home to around 2,000 species of snails. All this belongs to the owner of the museum, Somochai Pattamakanthen and his brothers. They've spent the past three or four decades building up a wide range. Among his exquisite collections are noble grain (heavy seashell with variegated patterns), leopard skins and torso murex. In addition, there are some rare and bizarre shells including the world's largest gold pearl (140 karat), large sections of sedimentary rock containing crust fossils representing Earth's early life forms, and a shell weighing 250 kilograms! On the ground floor there are many interesting gifts and souvenirs.
