Preston Park is a park near the village of Preston in the city of Brighton and Hove, East Sussex, England. It is one of the largest parks in Brighton, with 63 acres (250,000 m2) of lawns, formal borders, rose gardens, bowling greens, tennis courts and a small pond. It was bought in 1883 by the Brighton Corporation (then Brighton Local Council) from Sir William Bennett Stanford [4] who owned the Preston Manor estate and began developing the park as an enclosed pleasure grounds. The park's official opening was announced on November 8, 1884.
