promenade of Peyrou
The Promenade de Beyroux, which is located in the highest part of Montpellier and west of the ancient walls, was designed during the reign of Louis XIV, but due to the turmoil at the beginning of the eighteenth century it was not completed until the middle of the eighteenth century. There are many interesting details in this place, such as: the statue of King Louis XIV, which dates back to the year 1828, to replace an earlier version that was melted down to make cannons used in wars, while he sits on horseback with his arm extended towards Spain. In addition to the presence of the water tower dating back to the eighteenth century, which is a huge water tower fed by the "San Clement" aqueduct, which is 14 kilometers long. It is a beautiful and different place worth visiting.
