Quriyat Castle

Quriyat Fort looms exceptionally strong in the town of Quriyat. Recently restored, this 19th-century fort is a fine example of coastal defensive buildings typical of Oman, with its high ornate walls and round watchtower, while it is not always open. For visitors, its exterior is worth seeing, and you can still enjoy the view of the fine old wooden entrance door flanked by two rusty cannons and shuttered windows on the ground floor that surround the building on three sides, indicating that it was once a dwelling rather than a mere defense tower.
