Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary is a wetland reserve in Dubai that extends over an area of 6.2 square kilometres. It is famous for attracting migratory birds in large numbers due to its salt flats and mud flats, where the birds use them to build their nests. The most important of them are the flamingos, or what is known as the flamingo, which is concentrated in the region in the winter days. The reserve also includes a number of crustaceans, mammals and fish, including gray herons, great birds, coral reef grasshoppers, cormorants, black-winged stilts, sandpipers and more.
