River Wey and Godalming Navigations
The Wye and Godalming are navigable artificial waterways featuring bridges and 19th-century mills that stretch for nearly twenty miles through the heart of Surrey. The Wye was one of the first British rivers to become navigable and opened in 1653. It is 15 miles long between Guildford and Weybridge on the River Thames, and then the Godalming Pass was opened for navigation in 1764 enabling boats to run a further four miles up the river.
