Description of the place
The Companion School was built by the Seljuk Prime Minister Atta Fakhreddin Ali in 1267 with a fountain and a small mosque. The building was entirely constructed of cut stone according to the Anatolian Seljuk architectural tradition. The madrasa has a rectangular plan, an open courtyard, and one storey. Zigzag on the outer edges, these geometric carvings next to the door are the finest examples of Seljuk craftsmanship.
