Saint Mary's in Holy Trinity
It is believed that St. Mary's Anglican Cathedral in Auckland is the largest wooden Gothic building in the world, and the foundation stone for this building was laid in 1886, and although the cathedral was originally designed to be built in stone, but during the economic depression in the late nineteenth century, Stone construction was considered very expensive, and the building is based on the finest and most beautiful elements of medieval design. It was the last major project of the eminent architect Benjamin Woolfield Mountfort, so don't miss the opportunity to witness some of New Zealand's finest architecture.
