Sakip Sabanci Mardin City Museum
Sakıp Sabancı Mardin City Museum, which is affiliated with the Sabancı Foundation and has the status of “private museum”, aims to showcase and enhance the urban formation and living culture of Mardin, while providing a multi-use museum environment with its collection, educational programs, conferences and seminars, and also aims to create a modern and contemporary art platform in Mardin with Temporary exhibitions. The museum is distinguished by its historical building with a unique design, which was built in the name of the Knights Barracks in 1889 AD by the Governor of Diyarbakir, during the reign of Abdul Hamid (1876-1909 AD), and was used in this way for many years.
