Salah El Din Citadel
After a short ferry ride from the coast of Taba, you'll reach Pharaoh's Island, a small island made of granite surrounded by coral reefs and dominated by the impressive Saladin Citadel, built by the Crusaders in the 12th century and recently renovated by the Egyptian Board of Antiquities. Saladin established his soldiers on this strategic island in order to control the trade in products coming from Asia and demand ransom from the pilgrims on their way to Mecca, a really strategic place. You will be amazed by the panoramic view of the castle, which is the landscape that combines the coasts of Saudi Arabia and Jordan.
