Description of the place
Sandham Memorial Chapel was founded in the 1920s by Mary and Louis Behrend as a memorial to Mary's brother, Lieutenant Henry Willoughby Sandham, who died at the end of World War I, and contains a collection of paintings and murals by Stanley Stanley Spencer is inspired by his own experiences in the war.
