Seibo Memorial Museum
An impressive memorial museum specialized in displaying the wonderful pieces of art by the great artist and sculptor "Seibu Kitamura", who created the huge statue in the Peace Park in Nagasaki. There are dozens of diverse works of art, such as stone carvings of many sizes, ancient antique books, and exceptional paintings. Valuable to the history of the Shimabara Rebellion and the Japanese martyrs during the shogunate period in the 17th century, there are also many Buddhist statues concealing symbols of the Virgin Mary and Jesus that are worth exploring. This museum is housed in a restored old Japanese castle building, and from the top it is possible to enjoy the exceptional panoramic view of the city.
