About a 90-minute drive northeast of Ubud, the emerald-coloured Sidemen Valley reflects the feel of ancient Bali before the tourist crowds flocked to the island. This valley abounds in rice terraces, cocoa and coffee plantations, and Mount Agung looms covered in clouds in the background, and the locals still tend to their traditional activities in this valley. In addition, there are many popular bed and breakfasts in the area, and there are also some luxury villas overlooking the rice fields.
